CHRESO ART CENTERS

This ART does not stand for artistic expression. Rather it can mean the difference between life and death.

ART stands for Anti-retroviral treatment. This is the treatment to combat HIV/AIDS. Today ten’s of thousands of people are alive because of this treatment. We will explain here what this kind of ART has done in so many people’s lives.

Today, many children have their mother or father or even both because this treatment has kept them alive. The quality of life has dramatically improved for the clients on ART, for their spouse, for their children and for their relatives and friends. The economy of our nation Zambia has been relieved of losing their best trained staff and from spending colossal additional amounts of money to train manpower that would otherwise have been lost to the nation.

We thank God for this treatment, that became possible for many people in Zambia and other nations through the generous support of the American Government. It was in the early 2000’s that then President George W. Bush initiated the PEPFAR program (President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief).

We as Chreso team were privileged to be part of the AIDSRelief Consortium and we were one of the first five sites that opened under this program in 2004. Since then we have had a startling growth to take care of the ever increasing numbers of people that have knocked on our doors. Today Chreso Ministries is running sites in Lusaka, Kabwe and Livingstone. Over 40,000 people have been treated in the five sites, for which Chreso Ministries is now responsible. When it was time to hand over the AIDSRelief program to Local Partners, Chreso Ministries and CHAZ (Churches Health Association in Zambia) were successfully able to compete and take over this treatment program.
